# Daniel Christian became the second bowler after Kapil Dev (Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 4.1.1991) to accomplish a hat-trick against Sri Lanka in ODIs.  He is the fourth bowler after Shahadat Hossain, Shane Bond and Lasith Malinga to accomplish a hat-trick and finishing on the losing side.

# Christian's excellent figures are the third best by an Australian bowler against Sri Lanka in ODIs - the  two best being 6 for 31 by Mitchell Johnson at Pallekele on August 10, 2011 and 5 for 21 by Tony Dodemaide at Perth on January 2, 1988.

# Christian became the leading wicket-taker for Australia in the present tournament - 13 at 20.30 in eight games.

# Daniel Christian (5/31) has recorded his best bowling figures in ODIs - his first ever five-wicket haul.
