Richard Muzhange, the 21-year-old medium pacer, was the only uncapped member named in the 15-man Zimbabwe squad for the ICC World Twenty20 to be held in Sri Lanka from September 18. Brendan Taylor was named the captain of the team. Brian Vitori, the left-arm fast bowler, was the only other member of the squad yet to play a Twenty20 International.
Ray Price, the experienced left-arm spinner, who missed the unofficial tri-series against South Africa and Bangladesh in June due to a knee injury, returned to the squad. Prosper Utseya, the former skipper, is Price's likeliest partner in the spin department. Elton Chigumbura will fill in the allrounder's slot.
Zimbabwe are currently underdoing a conditioning camp in Harare before flying to Sri Lanka in the first week of September for a few warm-up games. Zimbabwe are placed in Group C alongside South Africa and Sri Lanka, who they will take on in the tournament opener on September 18 in Hambantota.
