The impact of the Supreme Court's interim order that no India Cements employee should perform any BCCI administrative jobs has claimed its first 'victim'. The Board has been forced to remove India's logistics manager Menon Arathi Satish, who is currently in Bangladesh for the ICC World Twenty20.
"I would like to inform all of you that Mr MA Satish (logistics manager of the Indian team) will be going back to India as soon as the replacement for him joins the Team. There has been a delay in the visa process for his replacement due to the weekend," RN Baba, media manager of the team, said in a media release. Satish is a former Kerala cricketer and has traveled with the Indian team ever since N. Srinivasan came into power. Satish was part of the Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy last year too, where he assisted manger Ranjib Biswal on several fronts including keeping a check on anti-corruption activity. The Supreme Court on Friday ordered BCCI that no India Cements employee will perform any of the duties assigned to them by the BCCI until the IPL match-fixing and betting case was solved. Board president Srinivasan is the Managing Director of India Cements that owns Chennai Super Kings. He too has been 'suspended' by the Supreme Court and replaced by vice-president Shivlal Yadav, who will handle BCCI matters except Indian Premier League. The court has installed former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar as interim president to run IPL 2014.
