Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Najam Sethi said on Thursday, Pakistan have prepared well for the World T20 Championships in Bangladesh, and are favourite to win the coveted title. (India-Pakistan set to get the ball rolling as Super-10 beckons)
Sethi said the team has a great combination for the T20 format. "The experts also believe that we have a very strong T20 side and now it is up to the players to put off any pressure and give their best. (Also Read: Unrest in Pakistan camp ahead of marquee clash against India)
The board has done all it can to provide them with ideal conditions to perform well," Sethi told reporters prior to leaving for Dhaka. (Paradise lost for Pakistan?)
Sethi, who is accompanied by Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmad, is expected to meet with heads of the other boards during his stay in Bangladesh, including Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Chairman N Srinivasan. (Najam Sethi hints at supporting ICC revamp plan)
Pakistan is the only country to have not supported the recent ICC revamp and abstained from voting at the last meeting of the global body's executive board. Sethi, however, preferred to talk about the World T20 saying it was premature to comment on the Big three issue.
"We have been doing our homework on the Big three issue. But doing well in this tournament is also very important for us in many ways. We have the right players and it is the responsibility of the coaching staff to motivate and improve their game," he said.
