Doha: Henrik Stenson overcame strong wind and a challenge from Paul Broadhurst on Sunday to win the Qatar Masters by three strokes. The Swede shot a 4-under 68 to finish the tournament at 15-under 273. Broadhurst shot 70 and finished at 12 under.Darren Fichardt (68) was third, followed by Niclas Fasth (73), Richard Finch (72), Nick Dougherty (70) and Ricardo Gonzalez (72) in a tie for fourth.Stenson, who started the day with a one-stroke lead, had two birdies on the front nine at the Doha Golf Club. He bogeyed the 14th hole, but then had three birdies on the final four holes to win.''This is an unbelievable feeling,'' said Stenson, who finished second last year. ''I was so close to winning this title last year, but couldn't do so. So to have come back and finally won this event feels great.''Defending champion Ernie Els (72) finished in a tie for 13th at 5 under. The South African had four birdies and four bogeys in the final round.''It was a good finish, and I have to look at that positively going into next week,'' Els said. ''However, it was a tough day. I got off to an iffy start, but battled hard to get back to level at the end of the day.''I have to go and work on my putting. I guess that's where my problem lies,'' Els added. ''I am looking forward to the next week in Dubai.''Broadhurst opened his round with a pair of birdies, but he bogeyed the fourth. He then had another birdie at No. 16 to get to 70.''It was a tough day and I didn't play that well,'' Broadhurst said. ''It was always going to be that type of day. I think the best player on the day won the tournament. I was just trying to hang in there for as long as possible.''Vijay Singh shot 69 to finish at 3 under after five birdies and three bogeys. (AP)
