The players distributed balls to the fans. They sent it into the crowd with the help of tennis racquets. What follows is some lucky fans taking selfies and asking for autographs from the cricketers. The players are now walking off the ground.

"What I saw today, I have never seen anything like this (before)," said India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah after victory parade.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India handed the INR 125 crore prize money to the World Cup-winning team. BCCI secretary Jay Shah had earlier announced the prize money for Rohit Sharma and Co. after their T20 World Cup triumph.

"Jasprit Bumrah is a once in a generation bowler, he brought us in the game time and again," said Virat Kohli in praise of the ace pacer, who bagged the Player of the Tournament award in T20 World Cup 2024.

"I couldn't connect with emotions of seniors who cried that night (after 2011 World Cup triumph) but now I do. This is the first time in 15 years that I have seen Rohit show so much emotion," said Virat Kohli.

"The huge turnout of fans to welcome us shows they were as desperate for this T20 World Cup title as we were," said India captain Rohit Sharma. He added that the T20 World Cup trophy belongs to the entire nation.

The T20 World Cup victory parade of Team India has concluded at Wankhede Stadium. The BCCI is set to felicitate the team now at the iconic venue.

South Mumbai witnessed massive traffic snarls as a sea of people converged at Marine Drive to witness the victory parade of the Indian cricket team on Thursday evening. Trains arriving at Churchgate on the Western Railway network and the sprawling Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, the last station on Central Railway's vast route, were crowded as people from various parts of the metropolis made their way to the southern tip right from the afternoon of the metropolis to watch the parade. Stations and roads reverberated with slogans of 'Bharat Mataki Jai', 'Vande Mataram' and 'India India' as Tricolour-waving and blue jersey-clad crowds braved the intermittent rains to catch a glimpse of the team that had brought T20 cricket's most coveted prize home after more than a decade.

The two greats of Indian cricket -- Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli -- held the trohy in their hands and responded to the crowd's massive cheer. These are the moments that the Indian cricket as well as the fans will cherish for a long-long time.

Call it one of the rarest sights. Both Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid are celebrating the victory over the bus with great enthusiasm. Meanwhile, there is a fan hanging on the tree to get a closer glimpse of the Indian cricket team. This is the craze of cricket in India.

There is Suryakumar Yadav, standing at the centre of the bus and waving to the fans. Former India head coach Rahul Dravid, who was at the role when the team won T20 World Cup last week, shows a thumbs up to the crowd. One could also witness India flags with the fans at Marine Drive. This is a sight to behold!

The traffic has come to a standstill as there is heavy crowd in Mumbai for Team India's victory parade. The police personnel have their task cut out. This is never an easy job to handle such a massive crowd. And what should not it be as India have won a T20 World Cup after 17 years.

The bus in which Team India was set to do the victory parade is going to pick the players at the moment. Such is the rush in Mumbai at the moment that bus too got stuck.

Two Indian icons, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, were honoured by the airline Vistara. The call sign that was assigned to the Indian team's Vistara flight as it travelled from Delhi to Mumbai is what makes it unique. 'UK1845' is the call sign for the flight. It represents Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's jersey numbers.

We are alredy 37 minutes forward from the scheduled time for the victory parade to start. The players arrived late in Mumbai and that has led to the delay.

The crowd at Wankhede Stadium booed Hardik Pandya during Mumbai Indians' IPL 2024 matches and look at the scenes now. The crowd is chanting his name. You can hear "Hardik, Hardik" all-round the stadium.

The Indian cricket team has landed in Mumbai ahead of its victory parade, which is set to begin in some time from now. However, it has also started raining in Mumbai.

The crowd is packed at Marine Drive, the starting point for Team India's victory parade, as well as the end point, the Wankhede Stadium. All the fans are awaiting the arrival of Rohit Sharma and Co. 

When MS Dhoni-led Team India won the inaugural edition of T20 World Cup in 2007, the side also did a victory parade in Mumbai. Crowd gathered in huge numbers to greet the players. Have some similar expectations from the victory parade set to take place today.

Team India will celebrate the World Cup victory with fans in an open-top bus in Mumbai and the special vehicle, painted in colours of Team India, has reached Marine Drive in the city ahead of team's arrival from Delhi. The bus also has a picture of the elated Indian team after they won the T20 World Cup trophy in the West Indies. The Rohit Sharma-led side will travel in the bus from Marine Drive to the iconic Wankhede Stadium celebrating the victory with the cricket fans.

Team India's victory parade will take at Marin Drive in Mumbai. For the preparations for the much-awaited parade, a bizarre step has been taken. According to the report of Indian Express, some branches of a banyan tree have been cut down, in order to make a clear way for the players during the parade.

As per some visuals from the spot, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hosted the T20 World Cup winners for a delicious breakfast. Team India has been travelling since yesterday and has finally reached Delhi on Thursday morning. After the breakfast, PM Modi will meet and congratulate the entire team for their triumph.

If you think that the fans craze which was seen at the Delhi Airport was a lot, then hold your breathe as a huge surprise awaits for the World Champions at the ITC Maurya hotel. The chefs have prepared a especially hand-crafted cake, representing Team India's jersey. Apart from this, the team will be welcomed by the hotel staff, guests, and a loads of media persons at the hotel. 

After landing in Delhi, Team India, who are the T20 World Cup winners, have taken their seats in the team bus. The bus has now departed from the airport and is now en-route to ITC Maurya.

Executive chef at ITC Maurya, Chef Shivneet Pahoja says, "The cake is in the colour of the Team's jersey. Its highlight is this trophy, it may look like an actual trophy but this is made out of chocolate...This is our welcome to the winning team...We have arranged the breakfast in the special venue and we will offer them a special breakfast..."

The Indian players are out of the airport and are boarding the team bus.

Rain in Delhi seems to have delayed Team India's landing a little. But, it seems like Rohit Sharma's men would be back home in less than 5 minutes' time. 

Police have made elaborate security arrangements for the road show of the T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team in Mumbai on Thursday evening, an official said.

The victorious team will take part in an open bus road show followed by a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in South Mumbai after arriving from New Delhi.

The victory procession will be held between 5 and 7 pm from Nariman Point to the Wankhede Stadium, the official said.

Team India's full schedule for the day:

-Reach New Delhi at 6.20 AM. 

-Meet PM Narendra Modi at 11 AM.

-Arrive Mumbai at 4.00 PM.

-Open bus parade from 5 PM to 7 PM.

-Felicitation program at Wankhede till 7.30 PM. Team will receive 125 crore rupees in the program. 

-Players leave for their respective hotels.
