South Africa's 20-year-old pacer Kagiso Rabada became just the second bowler after Bangladesh left-arm spinner Taijul Islam to bag a hat-trick on debut in the first ODI against Bangladesh in Mirpur.
Rabada ran through the Bangladesh top-order, dismissing Tamim Iqbal, Litton Das and Mahmudullah for ducks. First, the left-handed Tamim was bowled off a full delivery, next Litton flicked one straight to Farhaan Behardien at mid-wicket and then Mahmudullah was trapped plumb in front of the stumps. Bangladesh were thus, reduced to 17/3 in 4 overs.
The first match has been affected by rain. Bangladesh opted to bat after winning the toss. The match will be a 40-over-a-side affair.
