Rain threat looms on 1st T20 between India, Australia

Rain might play a spoilsport in India's bid to salvage some pride Down Under when they take on Australia in the first T20 International at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney.

Heavy rain lashed out Sydney early this morning. However, according to a Daily Telegraph report, weather experts hope for a bright day ahead.

"The forecast for this afternoon is for periods of rain and clearing skies which means it will be touch and go for the 62,000 people who have tickets for the match," the report said

"You could have a dry spell for three hours or a wet spell for three hours. It will depend on the timing," Weather expert Roger Badham said.

Brett Lee, who is likely to lead Australia's pace attack, tweeted: "Go away rain."

In order to constitue a game under the ICC rules, each team must play five overs.
