PBKS Full Squad, IPL 2026: Last season runners-up Punjab Kings entered the mini auction with the second-lowest purse among all the ten franchises. They had Rs 11.50 crore in their kitty at the start of the bidding war and this saw the franchise stay quiet for a long time. PBKS had their first pick in the accelerated round when they paid Rs 3 crore for Australian batting all-rounder Cooper Connolly, who bats left-handed and bowls slow left-arm orthodox. Kolkata Knight Riders showed interest in Connolly after bidding for his base price of Rs 2 crore, but PBKS raised the bar and eventually bagged the services of the player.

Later on the day, the Punjab franchise bought Ben Dwarshuis for Rs 4.40 crore.

Led by Shreyas Iyer, PBKS reached the final of IPL 2025, where they lost against Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six runs. Despite losing the final, the 2025 season was a terrific one for PBKS as they reached the Playoffs and the final after 11 years. PBKS made very few changes to their squad ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. They retained the vast majority of their roster. Punjab Kings' most high-profile release was Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who failed to live up to expectations in 2025 and got injured mid-season. Australian wicket-keeper batter Josh Inglis was also released.
