22.31 (IST): MS Dhoni: We are playing well. Our bowling has been tested. We are happy to be winningWe don't have a death bowler yet. We are still playing based on the conditions. It was important for Rohit to stay on and play well to boost his confidence. We all know how good a player he is.
22.30 (IST): Darren Sammy: Took us a long time to respond to their spinners. Credit to India, they played well. It was a good partnership between Rohit and Kohli and that took the game away from us. Still 3 games to go and we are confident of going through.
22.30 (IST): Amit Mishra (Man-of-the-Match): I am really happy to get back-to-back Man-of-the-match award. I am happy we won today. At the moment I am enjoying my game and I am happy that we are winning. I have worked hard for my variations and I am happy they are working.
22.21 (IST): Another clinical performance from India, registering two wins in as many games as they clinched a comfortable seven-wicket win over West Indies. It was an all-round performance as Amit Mishra (2/18) and Ravindra Jadeja (3/48) spun a web around the West Indian batsmen early on in the innings. Chasing a paltry total, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli spent time in the middle and scored fifties to add to their confidence ahead of bigger matches.
22.12 (IST): INDIA beat West Indies by 7 wickets.
22.05 (IST): India reach 125/2 in 18 overs, need 5 runs to win from 12 balls.

21.52 (IST): OUT! Kohli is gone for 54, clean bowled by Andre Russell. He was looking to up the scoring rate and went for a big heave and played it on to the stumps. He is unhappy as he walks back but he has done enough here. India 1072 in 14.4 overs
21.48 (IST): Rohit Sharma's fifty now! His sixth in T20Is. India 104/1 in 13.4 overs.

20.56 (IST): The issue is resolved and the West Indian total stays at 129/7 as Samuel Badree is ready to start the proceedings with the ball.
ÂÂ
20.50 (IST): There is some confusion about WI's final score. The officials are talking to the Sammy about it.
20.36 (IST): India's fielding wasn't particularly good today but their spinners have done exceptionally to restrict the West Indies to a low total here. The West Indian batsmen failed to find their rhythm as they struggled against the turn that this wicket provided to the Indian tweakers. As many as 14 runs came in extras, 12 of which were wides. MS Dhoni will however, take this performance with open arms as his batsmen have a fairly simply job at hand to secure two wins in two games.
20.34 (IST): Amit Mishra (2/18), Ravindra Jadeja (3/48) restrict West Indies to 129/7.
ÂÂ
20.30 (IST): Two back-to-back sixes from Lendl Simmons but he is gone off the next ball trying to get another maximum but not connecting well. He goes for 27 (22), WI 121/7 in 19.4 overs.

20.27 (IST): Another phenomenal spell from Amit Mishra comes to an end as he finishes with figures of 2/18.
20.23 (IST): WICKET on a NO-BALL! Lendl Simmons enjoys a charmed life as he is caught in the deep of Jadeja but is called back as Jadeja seems to have over stepped. He added further insult to injury by whacking the free-hit delivery for a six. WI 106/5 in 18 overs.
20.20 (IST): Another dangerman Sammy is gone! The gamble of bringing a spinner on in the 18th over is on. Sammy is caught by Rohit Sharma in the deep. WI 97/5 in 17.3 overs.
20.15 (IST): Much-needed runs for West Indies as Simmons and Sammy collect 13 runs from Shami's over. WI 96/4 in 17 overs.
20.10 (IST): West Indies reach 83/4 in 16 overs with Darren Sammy (1) and Lendl Simmons (10) in the middle.
ÂÂ
20.08 (IST): Two in two for Mishra! West Indies innings is crumbling here! Mishra bowls an excellent googly to trap Dwayne Bravo in front of the stumps for a first-ball duck. WI 74/4 in 14.4 overs.
20.06 (IST): Gone! Another wicket! The Indian spinners are wreaking havoc here. Beautiful delivery from Amit Mishra, enticing Samuels to come forward and beating him in the air and turning away to allow Dhoni to complete the formality of dislodging the bails. WI 74/3 in 14.3 overs.
ÂÂ
20.01 (IST): OUT! Big, Big wicket for India as Chris Gayle departs! Shouts of yes-no and Gayle is short of his ground as Dhoni dislodges the glowing bails! Gayle goes for 34, West Indies 62/2 in 13 overs.
19.55 (IST): Good, bold captaincy from Dhoni here! The Indian spinners have kept Gayle silent and Dhoni has gone back to Mishra who induced a leading edge from Gayle in his first over.
19.50 (IST): Quite an uncharacteristic start from the West Indian batsmen here. They have just 47/1 in 10 overs. However, the big man Chris Gayle is still in the middle and that's what will keep India on their toes.
ÂÂ
19.47 (IST): An uneventful over as Gayle and Marlon Samuels are happy with just two singles. WI 41/1 in 9 overs.
19.45 (IST): Interesting move from Dhoni here as he brings on left-arm spinner Suresh Raina into the attack. Mishra managed to induce a leading edge so it could be interesting to see how Gayle approaches Raina. WI 38/1 in 8 overs.
19.41 (IST): OUT! First wicket for India! Dwayne Smith's torrid time in the middle comes to an end as he is caught and bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin. WI 38/1 in 7.5 overs.
19.38 (IST): SIX and DROPPED! Gayle welcomes Amit Mishra with a six over long on and is deceived by Mishra soon after and a leading edge goes to Yuvraj at deep mid-wicket who lets the ball go right through his hands. WI 33/0 in 7 overs.
19.33 (IST): Spin seems to have given Smith a bit of confidence as he breaks the shackles to get a boundary. He moves on to 6 off 22 balls. West Indies 24/0 in 6 overs.
19.33 (IST): Dhoni brings on Ravichandran Ashwin in the last over of powerplay.
19.28 (IST): There arrives the real Gayle! Demolishing, demoralising and outright brutal! He whacks Shami for a six over long on and follows up with a four and a swing-and-a-miss to end the over. West Indies 16/0 in 4 overs.
19.23 (IST): Is this the same wicket where Umar Akmal and Glenn Maxwell went on an onslaught? Doesn't seem like it so far! Another phenomenal over from Bhuvneshwar, just a run off it. West Indies 6/0 in 3 overs.
19.16 (IST): Dropped! How costly is that going to prove for India? Ravichandran Ashwin drops Chris Gayle at first slip! It was a straightforward chance. West Indies 4/0 in 2 overs.
19.13 (IST): Excellent start from Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Swing and variable bounce for him as the Windies opening pair of Chirs Gayle and Dwayne Smith pick up just a run from it. WI 1/0 (1 over).
19.11 (IST): Bhuvneshwar Kumar starts the proceedings for India and straightaway gets the ball to swing away from the right-handed Dwayne Smith.
18.56 (IST): Dwayne Bravo: In these conditions, change of pace and variation is key while bowling. We have 11 match-winners in our team so we are ready.
18.51 (IST): " I don't know... I am just looking forward to his dance" - Suresh Raina's reply when asked what will be the plan against the big-hitting Chris Gayle.
18.50 (IST): In-form Suresh Raina looks calm and composed ahead of the game. He says he is looking forward to scoring runs again and that he is wary of the fact that West Indies are defending champions and India need to perform well against them to win.
018.43 (IST): Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to field against the West Indies in Dhaka. India name an unchanged side from their win against Pakistan.
ÂÂ
1820 hrs (IST): A smiling MS Dhoni comes out to the sidelines to watch a tense Pakistan vs Australia match (Match result and scorecard). He appears relaxed after the win against Pakistan as both India and West Indies get set to warm-up. (Update: Pakistan defeat Australia by 16 runs to keep hopes alive)

1745 hrs (IST): Weather update - There is the possibility of slight showers which does not auger too well for cricket fans here. The maximum temperature has been hovering around the 23C mark.
1730 hrs (IST): It would be interesting to see if India include a third spinner in the side today. Amit Mishra bagged 2 wickets in a crucial effort against Pakistan. Although Dhoni was impressed, he said he had not made firm plans to prefer spin over pace. Read full report here.
1715 hrs (IST): Did you know? Chris Gayle is banking on his spin - not big-hitting - to trouble oppositions. Read here.
ÂÂ
1700 hrs (IST): While India may be banking on momentum to carry them forward - defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets, West Indies skipper Sammy is counting on his entire team to combine. According to Jamaica Observer, he said that playing as a unit had helped them in the previous edition. "Being defending champions what I can say is that we've gathered more experience. Last tournament, our senior players, our key players performed very well for us but the key was even though they performed for us, we played together as a team," Sammy pointed out.
High-flying India ready for the Gayle challenge
Their sagging morale lifted after a thumping win over Pakistan, Indian spinners will now have to brace up for the ever-dangerous Chris Gayle when the team squares off against defending champions West Indies in their second match of the ICC World Twenty20 here on Sunday.
A victory against Pakistan was just the kind of shot in the arm that was required before facing a team that has world's most devastating T20 batsman in Gayle. While a rampaging Gayle can take away the game at any point of time with his blazing bat, the Indian spin trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Amit Mishra and Ravindra Jadeja will definitely pose a few problems for the 'Jamaican Marauder'.
Gayle has minimum footwork as he believes in stand and hit technique. With Ashwin successfully employing a round the wicket technique to bottle up batsman and Mishra inviting him to come out by flighting his deliveries, it will be a challenge for Gayle to devise a counter strategy. While spinners will hold the key, Dhoni would also expect that Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami don't bowl length balls to Gayle as it has a chance of consistently landing in the stands. (Read More)

India vs West Indies: The BIG FIGHTS
ÂÂ
"I am not Jesus Christ. I don't know what's going on in his mind. I know he is really pumped up to play here," said Darren Sammy on Chris Gayle's mood ahead of Sunday's blockbuster ICC World Twenty20 clash between defending champions West Indies and India in Mirpur. This Group of Death clash will see a few 'personal' battles as India aim to overturn their poor T20 record against the colourful Caribbeans.
Gayle has been inconsistent of late. India will be keen to exploit this 'weakness'. If West Indies bat first, Mirpur will see a Gayle versus Ravichandran Ashwin battle straightaway. The Chennai off-spinner opened the bowling against Pakistan and the ploy paid off. It is likely that skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will employ this masterstroke once again to keep Gayle quiet. In T20 cricket, it's not always about bagging wickets. If Ashwin can bowl an economical spell against Gayle, India would have won a big mental battle as the middle-order will be under pressure to score.
According to Sunil Gavaskar, Gayle and Dwayne Bravo will be the batsmen India will have to watch out for. Sammy, whose lust for sixes can be dangerous, also figures in Gavaskar's list of Indian 'enemies' in the Caribbean camp. The mood for a 'fight' was already set in a press conference on Saturday where Suresh Raina and Sammy traded verbal volleys. Raina said the West Indians "don't know how to takes one's and two's and can only hit sixes." Sammy, normally a friendly and jovial person, seems to have accepted the 'challenge'. (Read More)

Suresh Raina, Darren Sammy and the mind games
ÂÂ
West Indies captain Darren Sammy wasn't amused when he heard that Suresh Raina has dubbed his batsmen as "six hitters" and dared the Indian bowlers to stop them from hitting the maximums when they clash in the World T20 here on Sunday.
"We don't care much about what Raina thinks. If he thinks we are only six hitters, then stop us from hitting sixes," Sammy replied when asked about his batsmen inability to rotate strike against spinners.
As usual, the affable West Indies skipper seemed to be in good mood as he answered the questions with a bit of fun and a lot of seriousness. (Read more)
