Sreesanth is optimistic of playing the series against South Africa. Admits though that he was scared to even get out of his house.
S Sreesanth, bearded and with a teeka on the forehead, today said that his two-week incarceration at Delhi's Tihar Jail last month has left him "struggling to even speak."
"I was scared to even get out of my house after getting out of jail," the Kerala pacer said after meeting Ravi Sawani, the chief of the Indian cricket board's anti-corruption unit, in Delhi. (Also watch: Wedding bells for S Sreesanth)
Sreesanth described today's meeting as "much better than police interrogation" and Mr Sawani as having, "behaved like a father or elder brother with me."
The bowler, who has played Test cricket for India, is out on bail. He was jailed after being accused of liaising with bookies to deliberately bowl badly in Indian Premier League matches in return for lakhs of rupees. (In pictures: The fall and fall of Sreesanth)
Apart from the police's investigation, the BCCI is conducting its own inquiry into the allegations and Sreesanth could face a life ban from cricket if he is found guilty.
His primary concern right now, he said, is whether he will play cricket again; he said he has started training. But first, Sreesanth said he needed a clean chit so he could live a "normal life" again.
"Even to do a nine to five job, I need a clean chit," he said, adding, "By God's grace everything is getting better. Am trying to get back to normal life."
