Ishant Sharma bagged his career-best figures of 6/51, to take his total tally of wickets in the ongoing series in New Zealand to 15. This tally surpasses the previous best of 13 wickets by three Indian bowlers - Ramakant Desai in 1964-65, Javagal Srinath in 1999-2000 and Zaheer Khan in 2008-09.
Indian pacer Ishant Sharma put on his career-best performance of six for 51 against New Zealand on Day 1 of second Test in Basin Reserve at Wellington. With that performance, he added 15 wickets to his tally at an average of 14.20 in three innings and eclipsed the 13 wickets taken by three other Indian bowlers - Ramakant Desai in 1964-65, Javagal Srinath in 1999-00 and Zaheer Khan 2008-09.
