Australian cricketer David Warner is spending some quality time with his children after returning home. Warner on Monday reunited with his wife Candice and their three daughters after spending almost one month in isolation following the suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 on May 4. Sharing a beautiful snap with his two daughters Ivy and Isla, Warner wrote, “Youngest and eldest, my gorgeous girls. So much love from daddy."
The post was warmly received by Warner's Insta followers. Fans expressed their happiness to see their favourite cricket back home and safe in the comment box.
Responding to the post, Warner's Australian teammate Usman Khawaja's wife Rachel wrote, “The girls look so so happy to have you home.”
“How good! The best feeling for sure! Welcome home mate,” wrote a user.
Warner had a tough summer with the bat. He scored 193 runs in six IPL games at a below-par strike rate of 110.28. And to make matters worse for the Australian star, he was also stripped of Hyderabad's captaincy following SRH's fifth defeat of the season at the hands of Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
New Zealand's Kane Williamson was appointed SRH's skipper in their last match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) before the event was suspended. In a bold decision, Williamson also dropped Warner from his playing XI and played Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammed Nabi in his place.
However, the change in captaincy did not change Hyderabad's fortune as they lost their last match by 55 runs.
Prior to the suspension, SRH were placed at the eighth spot with just one win from their opening seven games.
Meanwhile, the second half of the IPL would be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in September and October.
