Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq wants the national board to start searching for and groom future skippers.
Misbah turned 40 in May, but on and off the field he remains the undoubted leader of the Test and ODI sides since taking over after the infamous spot-fixing scandal.
Misbah says Azhar Ali and Umar Akmal have the "cricketing sense, but it's important that the board and the management should give confidence to whichever player it wants to be groomed (as captain)."
Misbah has been the mainstay of a brittle Pakistan batting lineup, and was the top-scorer in one-dayers in 2013.
