Finally!!! Nicholas Pooran hits two back-to-back boundaries on Rashid Khan. The first came after Pooran placed a lofted drive, which went across the boundary rope. On the next ball, he once again hit a lofted drive as ball went past the long-off boundary. Rashid conceded 13 runs in the over.

FOUR!!! Abdul Samad hit two back-to-back boundaries on Kagiso Rabada.  A big sigh of relief for Lucknow Super Giants as Samad and Nicholas Pooran are forming a good partnership.

Rashid Khan bowls yet another brilliant over and keeps Lucknow Super Giants batters in check. In the previous over, he conceded just four runs. Nicholas Pooran and Abdul Samad's partnership is crucial of LSG's comeback in the game.

Lucknow Super Giants batters have gone on the backfoot after losing wickets in regular intervals. In the previous over of Ashok Sharma, the duo of Nicholas Pooran and Abdul Samad scored three runs. They are not taking risks but will be aiming for boundaries in the upcoming overs.

Oh No!!! That could have been one of the best catches of the season. Aiden Markram hammered it hard on Prasidh Krishna's delivery. Glenn Phillips got both hands to the ball, caught it but when he hit his elbows down, the ball pops up and rolls to the fence.

Another big over for Lucknow Super Giants as Aiden Markram and Rishabh Pant take on Kagiso Rabada. In the previous over of the pacer, the duo scored 15 runs, which included a maximum from Pant and two boundaries from Markram. Great partnership.

Mohammed Siraj once again bowls an excellent over and makes it up for Kagiso Rabada's over. He concedes just seven runs in the over as Rishabh Pant tries to show his cautious approach.

Booom!! Rishabh Pant attacks from the very first ball as he gets a boundary on Kagiso Rabada. Skips down the track and smokes it over mid-off. Was a tad fuller from Rabada, which made it easy for Pant to pick the length. A good start for LSG.

OUT!!! Kagiso Rabada bounces back in style and provides Gujarat Titans with their first wicket of the day as he dismisses Mitchell Marsh for 11. After getting hit for a six and a boundary, Rabada makes a good comeback on the next ball as Marsh plays a shot towards the mid-off. Skipper Shubman Gill then takes an excellent catch as LSG lose one wicket.

"I think the way wickets are nowadays, you know, the margin batting first or bowling first is not much, but you know, we've got a bowl first. I think for us it's amazing. You know, every win is important and especially when you win like that, it shows the character of a team, you know. But we want to move on from it, you know, take one match at a time and just give our best. (Talks about head-to-head) See, definitely it's a great boost for winning a match and coming into the next one. But at the same time, you know, you still have to give your best each and every match because wicket might play different, condition might be different. But at the same time, last match when we played, we talked about intent on the field. We always talk about that as a team and that was great to see when we were on the field, we were putting bodies on the line. We are playing with the same team," said LSG skipper Rishabh Pant.

"We'll field first. Two points in the last match give us plenty of confidence. Looking to play better cricket and ensure the match doesn't go to the last over. We have had a tremendous time, consistency is important in a long tournament such as the IPL. After 14 matches, the most consistent team will win the tournament. Same team for us today," said GT skipper Shubman Gill. 

Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bowl against Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2026 match on Sunday in Lucknow. 

"Let’s quickly take a look at the dimensions, it’s about 60 meters to my left, slightly bigger to my right at around 61 meters, and 76 meters straight down the ground. Interestingly, the square boundaries are on the shorter side, which could come into play. From up here it looks a bit different, what are you making of the surface? Yeah, it does look very dry. When you get closer, there’s hardly any grass on it. It’s a mixed clay surface, so while it appears dry underneath, it’s actually quite hard. I had a chat with the curator, they’ve only just taken the covers off, so I think it’s going to play much better than it looks. The ball should come onto the bat nicely. You might see a bit of turn later, especially with the temperature hovering around 37 degrees, but overall, this looks like a really good batting wicket," reckon Ian Bishop and Michael Clarke. 

With this being an afternoon match, the contest against Gujarat's spin duo of Rashid Khan and Washington Sundar on a surface expected to be slow and offer variable bounce could prove decisive. Rashid has been back to his best in the previous game against DC, returning with Player-of-the-Match figures of 3/17 that made the difference in their one-run win.

Another positive is the return to form of Ayush Badoni, who struck a half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders to set up the chase. Badoni being among runs adds depth to an already formidable top-five featuring Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, skipper Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran.

The last outing against KKR was particularly special, marking the emergence of a new 'finisher' in Mukul Choudhary. The unheralded 21-year-old from Rajasthan lit up the stage with a stunning six-hitting display, powered by lightning bat speed and a wide range of strokes, including the trademark helicopter shot of his idol, MS Dhoni, to emerge as the latest IPL sensation.

However, LSG have struggled to turn the Ekana Cricket Stadium into a fortress. They lost six of their eight matches here last season, including five in a row, en route to a seventh-place finish, and overall, have managed just nine wins from 22 games at the venue. This season too, they started with a batting collapse at home, getting bowled out for 141 in the six-wicket loss to DC.

Gujarat Titans sealed a thrilling one-run victory over Delhi Capitals for their first win of the season, while Lucknow Super Giants registered two impressive wins on the road against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders.
