Mukul Choudhary is an Indian cricketer who plays as a wicketkeeper-batter. Mukul's journey to professional cricket actually started with his father, Dalip Kumar Choudhary. Hailing from the small district town of Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan, Dalip was such a massive cricket fan that he dreamed of his son playing the sport even before Mukul was born. Despite facing early financial struggles and a lack of local sports facilities, his father was completely determined to make this dream come true.
After working as a teacher and eventually finding success in the real estate and hotel business, Mukul's father finally had the resources to support his son's passion fully. He made it a priority to enrol young Mukul in the SBS Cricket Academy in Sikar, giving him the proper training environment he needed to develop his raw talent.
Interestingly, Mukul did not start out behind the stumps. When he first joined the academy, he was a medium-fast bowler who wanted to become the most sought-after bowler in the world. However, during one match, his team was a wicketkeeper short, so he stepped in to help. Mukul, who considers legendary wicketkeeper MS Dhoni his idol, took to the role perfectly and never looked back.
As his skills improved, junior selectors took notice, leading Mukul to move to Jaipur to train at the Aravali Cricket Academy. To ensure he could focus entirely on cricket without feeling homesick, his mother and younger sister moved with him. His mother took care of his diet and daily needs, giving Mukul the freedom to concentrate completely on his game.
All of this hard work and incredible family support quickly paid off on the big stage. After making his T20 debut in 2023, it did not take long for Mukul's talent to catch the eye of IPL scouts. In the 2026 IPL auction, a massive bidding war ended with the Lucknow Super Giants securing him for a life-changing INR 2.6 crore.
