Ganguly refuses to take out-of-form Bangalore lightly

Royal Challengers Bangalore may have suffered morale-hitting three consecutive defeats but Pune Warriors captain Sourav Ganguly ruled out suggestions that his team start as favourites against the home side in an Indian Premier League match here on Tuesday.

Ganguly said RCB have immense firepower to turn the tide in their favour at any point of time in the tournament.

"I don't think in this format anybody is a favourite. Tomorrow is a new day and could be different. RCB has some terrific players who can change things. But we are looking to fire tomorrow as well," he told reporters at the pre-match press conference on Monday.

Contrary to RCB captain Daniel Vettori's concern over chasing targets on the M Chinnaswamy stadium wicket, Ganguly said the turf looked in a good shape for the encounter.

Vettori had on Sunday said the pitch at the Chinnaswamy stadium changes in the second innings, making life difficult for the batsmen.

Meanwhile, Ganguly was also upbeat about his team's performance in the three matches they have won out of the four, which included wins over formidable outfits like Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

"We have played well and have won three out of the four matches. We beat Mumbai and Chennai, but it is still early days. It is time for everyone to get back into form," he said.

RCB opener Mayank Agarwal said his team was looking to bounce back rather than brooding over past mistakes.

"We can't change past mistakes. We are looking to bounce back. Least we can do is think positive and go out and perform," he said.

Mayank said RCB was in a similar situation, losing three matches on the trot after winning the first in the last IPL.
