India and defending champions the West Indies lock horns in the ICC World Twenty20's Group of Death in Mirpur (Dhaka) on Sunday. India have made a flying start with a seven-wicket win against arch-rivals Pakistan. West Indies, with two convincing wins in the warm-up games, are packed with T20 experts and will pose a serious challenge to Mahendra Singh Dhoni's team.
West Indies have won both their World Cup encounters against India -- by 7 wickets at Lord's on June 12, 2009 and by 14 runs at Bridgetown on May 9, 2010. India's only triumph out of three games against the West Indies in T20 internationals is by 16 runs at Port of Spain on June 4, 2011.
Following are some outstanding individual performances:
# Chris Gayle's 98 off 66 balls at Bridgetown on May 9, 2010 is the highest individual innings in India-West Indies T20Is.
# The top four individual scores for the West Indies in T20Is have been recorded by Gayle. He is the only West Indian to post a hundred - 117 off 57 balls vs South Africa at Johannesburg on September 11, 2007.
# For India, Yuvraj Singh's 67 off 43 balls at Lord's on June 12, 2009 is the highest individual score against the West Indies in T20Is.
# Darren Sammy (4/16 at Port-of-Spain on June 4, 2011) and Dwayne Bravo (4/38 at Lord's on June 12, 2009) are the only bowlers to have captured four wickets in India-West Indies T20Is.
# Ashish Nehra captured three for 35 at Bridgetown on May 9, 2010 -- the only Indian bowler to bag three wickets vs West Indies in T20Is.
