India vs Bangladesh Highlights, 2nd Test Day 1: Play was called off on Day 1 after just 35 overs, with rain and bad light playing spoilsport in the second Test between India and Bangladesh. Akash Deep picked up the wickets of openers Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam, while captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was dismissed by R Ashwin. Bangladesh ended the Day on 107/3, with Mominul Haque top-scoring with 40. He stayed unbeaten overnight alongside Mushfiqur Rahim, who would look to become the first Bangladesh batter to score 6,000 Test runs on Day 2. (Scorecard)
Shadman departed after a brilliant DRS call by India, but they ended up wasting two more reviews soon after with unsuccessful challenges. Earlier, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl

IND vs BAN Live: Join us on Day 2
Well, that seems to be a wrap for today. Rain was always on the cards, but it has impacted the start and end of day's play. Nevertheless, the game is still poised, with neither side having a significant edge.
Join us tomorrow for live coverage of India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Day 2, right here on SPORTS.NDTV.COM!
India are hosting a Test match in Kanpur for the first time in almost three years, with the last coming between November 25-29, 2021. Let's hope we get more action in the upcoming days.
Day 2 is set to be cloudy in Kanpur, with the possibility of thunderstorms. India and Bangladesh, and the fans, would hope that rain isn't too heavy today and overnight, so that play is possible tomorrow.
That's it. We're getting news that play has been called off for Day 1. A disappointing day of action in Kanpur, as we get only 35 overs of Test cricket.
Bangladesh end on 107/3, with Mominul Haque unbeaten on 40. For India, Akash Deep got 2 wickets, while Ashwin got 1.
Proper rain at the moment, it's pouring heavily. There was forecast of rain around 2 PM. Full ground is under the cover now. We might be in for early tea if the visuals are to be believed
Meanwhile, Bangladesh team's 'super fan' Tiger Roby was allegedly beaten up by some Team India supporters during the Kanpur Test. He had to be taken to the hospital by the police. Here's the full story...
There are covers all across the ground now. It is nothing but a measure for safety, in case rain starts amidst the overcast conditions. The floodlights are also shining bright, but a strong crowd in Kanpur waits expectantly.
A combination of the conditions as well as the number of left-handers in the Bangladesh batting has probably caused Rohit to not hand the ball to Ravindra Jadeja in 35 overs of play. His spin partner Ashwin has picked up a wicket, however.
The floodlights are on, and the rain covers have also been brought back keeping the overcast conditions in mind. Let's hope for a quick restart to action.
IND vs BAN Live Score: Play stops due to bad light
The players are walking off, the umpires have halted play due to bad light. Another stoppage in play, not due to rain this time but due to the overcast conditions.
After the early wicket loss, Mominul Haque has guided Bangladesh past 100, and is unbeaten on 40. Veteran Mushfiqur Rahim is alongside him, on 6.
Jasprit Bumrah is back into the attack for the first time after Lunch. He creates a big chance, invites Mominul to swing his bat and the ball flies in between slip and gully, and away for four. Mominul into the 40s now.
And the ball pitches outside leg stump! India lose a second review. May well have hit the stumps on hawk-eye, but that won't be a factor anymore. Rohit Sharma has been very active with the reviews today.
Mominul responds with a superb shot to bring up 100 for Bangladesh.
IND vs BAN Live Score: Huge appeal but the finger stays down
Huge appeal by Akash Deep and the rest of the team as Mominul is caught on the pads, but the umpire shakes his head. Rohit Sharma gives in, and goes for another review.
IND vs BAN Live Score: Another boundary for Mominul
The left-hander once again takes advantage of the close field. Short delivery by Akash Deep gives him the perfect chance to upper cut it towards third man for four. Mominul 32 off 72 now.
Ultra-aggressive field set by Rohit Sharma in the hunt for the next wicket. Four slips and a gully in place for Mushfiqur. The Indian captain wants to take advantage of the overcast conditions.
When Ashwin bowls, there's always a forward short-leg in place.
Mushfiqur opens the face of the bat and it goes past the slip cordon for four. He is just over 80 runs away from the 6,000-run mark in Test cricket. He would become the first-ever Bangladesh batter to achieve so.
Mominul is holding fort at one end. Leaving well, and then reacting to the loose balls. Pitched up here by Akash Deep, and Mominul drives it through the covers.
"There is rain expected around 2 o' clock in the weather forecast," says Dinesh Karthik in the comm box. Grey skies are also coming over the Kanpur stadium. Could we be heading towards another stoppage?
Ashwin traps Shanto out LBW! Big wicket! The partnership is broken. Gill also took a fabulous one-handed catch at second slip, so even if it hit the bat, he would've been dismissed.
Shanto reviews the umpire's decision, but it is plumb.
Just 4 runs in the first two overs after Lunch. Ashwin and Akash Deep keeping things tight, but Bangladesh choosing caution with the unpredictable conditions.
We are back after Lunch. India in search for the third wicket, Bangladesh hoping to stabilize the partnership between Mominul and Shanto even further. Will we see Jadeja handed the ball?
Bangladesh 74/2 at Lunch. Shanto (28*) and Mominul (17*) steady at the crease, edging towards a 50-run parternship. Akash Deep took the two opening wickets.
But, it's raining and the covers are out. Hopefully it clears up by the time Lunch ends.
Bangladesh stay solid. Shanto is attacking well, while Mominul is playing the classic No. 3 anchor role. Dealing well with everything thrown at them right now, whether it's Bumrah or Ashwin or Siraj or Akash Deep.
Najmul Hossain Shanto was Bangladesh's top scorer in the first Test, scoring a valiant 82, and he seems to have picked up from where he left. Looks at ease in the conditions and with his choice of shots.
Make that 4 maidens in 6 overs for Jasprit Bumrah. India's pacer spearhead has been miserly with the ball. But, crucially for Bangladesh, Mominul and Shanto survive. Now time for R Ashwin!
Shanto is playing fire with fire. He has survived some close calls, but he picks up another boundary, this time off Siraj's bowling. 22 off 24 balls now. That's 20 overs done.
