GT Full Squad, IPL 2026: IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans walked into the mini-auction with a purse of Rs 12.9 crore. During retention, GT kept their key pillars intact - skipper Shubman Gill, dependable top-order batter Sai Sudharsan, and right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj. They also kept the likes of Rashid Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Shahrukh Khan, and Jos Buttler, who remain central to the team's plans for the new season. Meanwhile, the GT franchise released Gerald Coetzee, Karim Janat, Mahipal Lomror, Dasun Shanaka, and Kulwant Khejroliya. (Full List Of Sold, Unsold Players | IPL 2026 Auction Live Updates)
GT's first pick in the auction was Ashok Sharma. Till the day of auction, the fast bowler was the top wicket-taker in the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with 20 scalps in nine matches, including best figures of 4 for 16. Not only stats, Ashok consistently clocks speeds above 140 kmph. Sharma was a net bowler with the Rajasthan Royals and was part of their squad in IPL 2025, but didn't get a game.
He didn't get a game with the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023 as well. But his consistent performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and attending trials with multiple franchises attracted the bidders in IPL 2026 auction.
