David Warner and Michael Clarke scored centuries on Saturday morning to put Australia in a commanding position in the first Ashes Test against England at the Gabba, Brisbane. Here are the statistical highs from Day 3's play:
# David Warner has recorded his fourth Test hundred - his first vs England.
# Warner has registered a Test hundred each vs England, India, New Zealand and South Africa.
# Warner's 124 is his second highest Test score, next only to a career-best 180 vs India at Perth in January 2012.
# Michael Clarke's 113 is his sixth hundred vs England - his 25th in Tests.
# The six batsmen posting 25 hundreds or more for Australia in Tests are Ricky Ponting (41), Steve Waugh (32), Matthew Hayden (30), Don Bradman (29), Allan Border (27) and Michael Clarke (25).
# In the course of his aforesaid innings, Clarke has completed his 3000 runs in 30 Tests as captain - his aggregate being 3073 (ave.62.71), including eleven hundreds and seven fifties.
# Amongst the 22 captains with 3000 runs or more, Don Bradman (101.51) and Clarke (62.71) are the only ones to manage an average of sixty-plus.
