Bombay High Court rejects Kochi's plea against BCCI

The Bombay High Court, on Wednesday, rejected a plea filed by the Kochi Tuskers against the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Kochi Tuskers had moved the court asking that the BCCI should be restrained from encashing the bank guarantee of over 154 crore rupees. The court however refused to grant relief. (Read previous report: Kochi drag BCCI to court)

The franchisee had been terminated on Monday for allegedly defaulting on payment dues despite being served a showcause notice by the Board. Newly appointed president N Srinivasan had said that there was no question of reversing the decision though the fate of the Kochi players continues to be in the lurch.

Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralidaran has already said that he hopes that other teams in the Indian Premier League will consider offering him a contract.
