BCCI seeks Sreesanth's explanation

New Delhi:

The BCCI has sent a letter to the ever-controversial Sreesanth asking him to explain the incident that occurred in Hotel Grand Ashoka in Bangalore. Sreesanth had an argument with the management of the Five Star hotel on Sunday.

The Kochi pacer was in Bangalore for a fitness programme at the National Cricket Academy and was staying at the Grand Ashoka. The tiff had occurred because the air condition in Sreesanth's room was noisy and Sreesanth was upset that the staff of the hotel did not pay heed to his request for a different room. An argument took place and the issue was only resolved on Monday morning. The BCCI has also asked the management of the hotel for their version of the events that took place.

"We have written letters to the hotel management and Sreesanth asking for details about what exactly happened there. He's staying there while attending the camp and his room was booked by us. We would like to know what has happened after reading about the incident in the newspapers," said BCCI CAO Prof Ratnakar Shetty on Wednesday.

Sreesanth is in Bangalore undergoing rehabilitation for his side strain sustained at the fag end of the Indian Premier League that has ruled him out of cricket for the whole of this month.

He has already missed the tri-series in Bangladesh, his place in the team taken up by Manpreet Singh Gony, and is set to miss the June 24-July 6 Asia Cup in Pakistan too.
