Thailand's Wongteanchai wins ITF title
Thailand's Varatchaya Wongteanchai clinched the singles title in the USD 10,000 MSLTA-ITF Women's Tennis Tournament at the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association's courts here on Saturday.

Thailand's Varatchaya Wongteanchai clinched the singles title in the USD 10,000 MSLTA-ITF Women's Tennis Tournament at the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association's courts here on Saturday.
Seventh seed Wongteanchai, who had ousted third seed Nicole Clerico of Italy in the quarter finals, rallied from a set down to get the better of fifth seed Vlada Ekshibarova of Uzebekistan 2-6 6-4 6-1 in the final.
The Thai, ranked 600 in the world, received USD 1,568 (around Rs 72,000) and also picked up 12 ITF points for winning the title, while her Uzbek rival, ranked 558, became richer by USD 980 (Rs 45,000) and gathered 8 points.
