Santiago:
Sam Querrey has pulled out of the United States' Davis Cup first round tie against Chile here next weekend because of a shoulder injury, American captain Jim Courier said on Monday.
"Unfortunately he's been suffering with his shoulder since last week and doctors have advised him to rest," said Courier on his arrival in Chile.
In the absence of the world number 24, John Isner, ranked 32, will join Andy Roddick in the singles with twins Bob and Mike Bryan lining up in the doubles.
Querrey, seeded third, was upset by US qualifier Ryan Sweeting in last week's ATP Delray Beach International Championships.
