New Delhi:
Karan Rastogi clinched his second ITF Men's Futures title this year by defeating Hyun-Woo-Nam of Korea 6-4, 6-2 in the final at DLTA Complex in New Delhi on Saturday.
Though both the players played well, the difference between the two was accuracy. While Nam missed points at crucial moments, Rastogi grabbed even little opportunities that came his way.
Nam fought well in the first set but momentum was set by Rastogi, who broke Nam in the very first game of the match, and he maintained it till the end. Good rallies were on show for spectators, cheering for Rastogi on every point going in his favour. ÂÂÂ
Nam, who was 3-2 down in the first set, missed chances to level the scores as he could not capitalise on three break points in the sixth game. Rastogi, who was serving 0-40 did not succumb to pressure and increased his lead to 4-2.
Rastogi and Nam both held their serves in the next four games and Rastogi won the set.
Rastogi, however, was not flawless as he committed quite a few unforced errors.
Nam, who began with a win in the first game of the second set, lost on his serves in the third and seventh games to hand over Rastogi 5-2 lead and eventually the match.
