Keeping things quick in 90-degree heat, defending U.S. Open champion Novak Djokovic wrapped up another easy victory to reach the third round, beating 112th-ranked Rogerio Dutra Silva of Brazil 6-2, 6-1, 6-2 Friday.
Djokovic didn't face any break points and finished with more than twice as many winners, 29, as unforced errors, 14. He needed a little more than 90 minutes to make sure he would keep intact his record of never having lost to a player ranked outside the top 100 at a major tournament.
The second-seeded Serb has dropped a total of seven games through two matches this year at Flushing Meadows.
Dutra Silva never has reached the third round at a Grand Slam tournament.
