South Africa reached 90/2 in their second innings after bowling out India for 307 in their first innings on the third day of the second cricket Test at the SuperSport Park here on Monday. South Africa have a lead of 118 runs with AB de Villiers (50) and Dean Elgar (36) at the crease as bad light and rain disrupted majority of the post-tea session. Jasprit Bumrah struck twice at the start of South Africa's second innings after Indian captain Virat Kohli hit a magnificent century on the third day. Kohli made 153 in India's first innings of 307 before he was last man out, caught in the deep off Morne Morkel, who took four for 60. Despite Kohli's efforts, South Africa had a first-innings lead of 28. This was soon rendered insignificant when Bumrah reduced South Africa to three for two. Aiden Markram was Bumrah's first victim, falling leg before wicket as he played back to a ball which cut back and kept low. Bumrah followed up with the wicket of Hashim Amla, who was also trapped on the back foot by a ball which cut back. Both batsmen were so palpably in front of their stumps that neither sought a review.
India had opened the bowling with off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and he troubled left-handed opening batsman Dean Elgar. But Elgar survived to share an unbroken 57-run partnership with AB de Villiers, who batted confidently to be on 33 not out. Kohli was largely untroubled as he scored his runs off 217 balls with 15 fours. But there was only one substantial partnership after India resumed on 183 for five. Kohli and Ashwin (38) put on 71 for the seventh wicket before the second new ball hastened the end of the innings.
This was Kohli's second Test hundred in South Africa, the second-most after batting legend Sachin Tendulkar who has 5 Test centuries here. He also became only the second Indian skipper to score a Test hundred on South African soil, after Sachin Tendulkar at Cape Town in 1997. (SCORECARD)

Highlights: India vs South Africa 2nd Test
India on the other hand, bowled well. They were disciplined and also chipped away at the wickets. Shami and Bumrah impressed the most by picking 7 between them. They were well supported by the rest, especially Ishant who also kept it tight and managed to take two. Now they will have to concentrate on their batting and hope for their openers to get them off to a solid start and make the chase easier. South Africa however will look to prise out a couple of wickets by the end of today. Join us for the chase in a while.
The Proteas started off with a lead of 28 but were rocked back early by the Indians. Bumrah picked up 2 quick wickets and they were in a mush at 3 for 2. But then a 141-run stand between Elgar and de Villiers with both scoring half tons each, ensured they were back on top before the latter fell. South Africa did lose wickets at regular intervals after that but du Plessis ensured that his side gets to a respectable total.
287 is the target for the Indians! They face an uphill task here as this is not going to be easy. They made quick work though of the remaining three wickets in this session, with Faf falling two short of his half ton. Shami, Ashwin and Bumrah all picked one wicket each in this session.
OUT! That's it! Ngidi holes out! Ashwin finally gets one, he tosses this one up on middle, Lungi tries to go over long on. He got the elevation but not the distance. Vijay in the deep runs to his right and takes an excellent catch, above his head. SOUTH AFRICA HAVE BEEN BOWLED OUT FOR 258!
That's hit the batsman high on his pads.
Tosses it up on off, Ngidi defends it onto the ground.
FOUR! WOW! Where did that come from? Bumrah lands it on a length around middle, Morkel moves his front leg out of the way and hits it over mid on for a boundary. The crowd absolutely loves it as there is a big cheer. The Indian players won't like it though.
Ngidi gets off the mark! Bumrah bowls a yorker on middle, Lungi manages to get bat on it as it rolls towards square leg for a run.
The batsman tries hooking that one but misses it completely.
Handy runs for South Africa! Bumrah bowls the third bumper of the over! Ngidi goes for the pull but it goes off the helmet and down towards third man. Kohli from first slip gives it a chase and the batsmen take two leg byes.
