New Zealand vs India: MS Dhoni first captain to feature in four tied ODIs

MS Dhoni created history by becoming the first ODI captain to have participated in four tied matches. The first one was in the 2011 ICC World Cup against England in Bangalore. His second was also against England at Lord's on September 11, 2011. The third occasion was against Sri Lanka in Adelaide in February 2012. Richie Richardson (West Indies), Steve Waugh (Australia) and Shaun Pollock (South Africa) were involved in three ties each. # Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma were involved in a stand of 64 - India's highest opening partnership in the present series, eclipsing the 22 at Hamilton.

# The aforesaid partnership is India's highest for the first wicket in eight innings in ODIs.

# The 64-run stand is India's third partnership of fifty or more in ODIs at Auckland - the first two being 70 between Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly on January 11, 2003 and 61 between Ajay Jadeja and Sachin Tendulkar on March 27, 1994.

# Rohit Sharma (39 off 38 balls) has registered his second highest score vs New Zealand in New Zealand in ODIs behind the 43 not out at Auckland on March 14, 2009.

# Shikhar Dhawan (28 off 25 balls) has recorded his second highest score vs New Zealand in ODIs next only to the 32 off 46 balls at Napier on January 19, 2014.

# Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been the only consistent performer in the present series for India, totalling 146 at an average of 48.66 in three games - his sequence of scores being 40 at Napier; 56 at Hamilton and 50 at Auckland.
