New Zealand vs India: MS Dhoni first captain to feature in four tied ODIs
MS Dhoni has become the first captain to be involved in four ODI ties. This feat was achieved as India tied the third ODI against New Zealand in Auckland.

MS Dhoni created history by becoming the first ODI captain to have participated in four tied matches. The first one was in the 2011 ICC World Cup against England in Bangalore. His second was also against England at Lord's on September 11, 2011. The third occasion was against Sri Lanka in Adelaide in February 2012. Richie Richardson (West Indies), Steve Waugh (Australia) and Shaun Pollock (South Africa) were involved in three ties each. # India (314/9) have posted their second highest total in ODIs in New Zealand, next only to the 392 for four vs New Zealand at Christchurch on March 8, 2009.
# In the history of ODIs, three tied games have produced totals of 300 or more from both the sides - England vs New Zealand at Napier on February 20, 2008; India vs England at Bangalore on February 27, 2011 and New Zealand vs India at Auckland on January 25, 2014.
# Martin Guptill (111 off 129 balls) has recorded his first century vs India - his fifth in ODIs.
# Guptill's aforesaid hundred is his second in ODIs at Eden Park, Auckland - the first being 122 not out off 135 balls vs West Indies on January 10, 2009.
# Guptill is the third New Zealand player to register two hundreds in ODIs at Auckland - the first two being Nathan Astle and Martin Crowe.
# Guptill became the first New Zealand batsman to post a hundred vs India at Eden Park, Auckland in ODIs, bettering Bruce Edgar's unbeaten 99 off 136 balls on February 14, 1981.
# Kane Williamson has recorded fifty-plus in three successive innings for the first time in ODIs - 71 at Napier, 77 at Hamilton and 65 at Auckland.
# Williamson's 65 off 74 balls is his ninth fifty in ODIs - his third vs India.
# Williamson's series aggregate of 213 at an average of 71.00 in three matches is his career-best in a series, obliterating the 163 (ave.32.60) in five matches vs West Indies in 2012.

# The 64-run stand is India's third partnership of fifty or more in ODIs at Auckland - the first two being 70 between Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly on January 11, 2003 and 61 between Ajay Jadeja and Sachin Tendulkar on March 27, 1994.
# Rohit Sharma (39 off 38 balls) has registered his second highest score vs New Zealand in New Zealand in ODIs behind the 43 not out at Auckland on March 14, 2009.
# Shikhar Dhawan (28 off 25 balls) has recorded his second highest score vs New Zealand in ODIs next only to the 32 off 46 balls at Napier on January 19, 2014.
# Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been the only consistent performer in the present series for India, totalling 146 at an average of 48.66 in three games - his sequence of scores being 40 at Napier; 56 at Hamilton and 50 at Auckland.

# Anderson is the first New Zealand all-rounder to manage 100 runs or more and take ten wickets in the same bilateral series
