Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 69 runs in Match 19 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season, at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. Chasing a target of 192 runs, RCB wrapped up their innings at 122 for nine in 20 overs. RCB put in a strong start, but lost wickets in quick intervals. Devdutt Padikkal (34) and Glenn Maxwell (22) made the only noteworthy contributions to their chase. Ravindra Jadeja was in top form, taking three wickets for CSK. Meanwhile, Imran Tahir took two wickets, Sam Curran and Shardul Thakur registered a dismissal each. Earlier, Chennai wrapped up their innings at 191 for four in 20 overs. CSK had a strong start, with openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis scoring 33 and 50 runs respectively. Meanwhile, Jadeja slammed an unbeaten knock of 62 runs in 28 balls, to help CSK set a strong target. The all-rounder smashed five sixes and a four in the final over, to put in a strong finish. In total, he smacked four fours and five sixes. Despite conceding a lot of runs in the 20th over, Harshal Patel took three wickets for RCB.
