Two of the best captains of IPL 2016 will clash tonight. If Virat Kohli has led RCB with aplomb, David Warner has been no less for SRH. The Australian dynamite single-handedly stole Gujarat Lions' thunder in a virtual semifinal in Delhi on Friday.
IPL will have a new champion tonight. RCB have lost two finals - versus Deccan Chargers in Johannesburg in 2009 and against Chennai Super Kings in Chennai in 2011. If current form is any yardstick, then RCB should be third time lucky.
But SRH will look RCB in the eye. In terms of firepower, Warner, Shikhar Dhawan, Yuvraj Singh and Moises Henriques are no less than Kohli, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Shane Watson.
Bowling will be the key. SRH missed their star pacer Mustafizur Rahman against the Lions. The presence of this immensely talented Bangladeshi pacer is important for Warner. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the top wicket-taker so far, will be the bowling spearhead for Hyderabad.
While their batting makes RCB favourites, Bangalore's bowling has got better with every match. Watson's clever variation of pace and Yuzvendra Chahal's tricky leg spin have baffled top batsmen.
With the match pregnant with possibilities, it will be 40 overs of electrifying action. There will be a reserve day if rain plays spoilsport.
