Four defeats in their last five games for a team that boasts of a Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle and Shane Watson is surely not a great advertisement. But that has been the story for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season.
Kohli's form has been the team's biggest hurrah. He owns the Orange Cap and remains the team's batting fulcrum. Chris Gayle's poor form has not been good news for the team.
RCB's biggest problem has been their bowling. For the sheer lack of a quality and consistent attack, RCB has lost games even after putting the runs on board. Kohli needs all-rounder Stuart Binny to fire with both bat and ball.
The win against Delhi Daredevils will boost Rising Pune Supergiants. MS Dhoni's team has been hard hit by injuries but the inclusion of George Bailey and Usman Khawaja will give them some solidity in batting. Ashok Dinda and Rajat Bhatia have done well with the ball.
In their first round clash, RCB had beaten RPS by 13 runs in Pune. Kohli stood out with a 63-ball 80 as an opener. De Villiers struck a 46-ball 83 to help RCB end on an imposing 185 for 3. Ajinkya Rahane's 60 and Dhoni's 41 were not enough for RPS.
