Murali Vijay has been appointed as the skipper of the Kings XI Punjab side for the remainder of the 2016 Indian Premier League. He replaces David Miller, who will continue as a player.
In a statement released by the Kings XI Punjab franchise, they said, "Miller continues to be an integral part of the team and is a very strong player of the squad."
Kings XI Punjab have endured a torrid time in the 2016 IPL, languishing at the bottom of the table with five losses from six games. Their only victory has come against MS Dhoni's Rising Pune Supergiants in Mohali.
Miller has endured a poor run with the bat in this tournament, scoring just 76 runs at an average of 15.20. On the other hand, Vijay has also struggled, scoring just 143 runs at an average of 23.
