Courtesy Kohli's knock, which included 11 fours and one six, RCB notched 180/2 against Suresh Raina-led GL. Kohli, with 367 runs under his belt, also surpassed Sunrisers Hyderabad's David Warner (294) as the 2016 IPL's leading scorer so far. (Scorecard)
However, the ton went in vain as RCB lost the match by six wickets, after Gujarat Lions' Dinesh Karthik scored 50*.
He is also the second batsman after Quinton de Kock to score a ton in 2016 IPL. "That was the only thing left till now, I played it through the gaps," Kohli said after his maiden IPL ton.
Apart from the boundaries, Kohli scored 31 runs off just singles, on a hot afternoon in Rajkot, and displayed once again why he is not just the most talented but also the fittest player in the world.
