19:00 hrs IST : Hello and welcome to the coverage of the fifth match of the Indian Premier League season 9. Kolkata Knight Riders take on Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens tonight. KKR thrashed Delhi Daredevils in their first game while Mumbai were outclassed by debutants Rising Pune Supergiants.ÂÂ

KKR have lost just once in their last 13 IPL matches at the Eden Gardens. Having routed Delhi Daredevils by nine wickets in their opening match this season, KKR will have a psychological edge against defending champions Mumbai Indians, who lost their opener against debutants Rising Pune Supergiants by identical nine wickets on April 9.
MI have been poor starters. They lost their first four games last season. In 2014, Mumbai Indians lost their opening five. This dangerous trend in a long-drawn championship is not welcome by any team management and that will make Rohit Sharma's men extremely hungry tonight.
For Rohit Sharma, Eden has been a lucky ground. He scored an unbeaten 98 and a 50 in his last two IPL games in Kolkata. Not only his form but the performance of MI's top order will be crucial on what traditionally has been a slow and spin-friendly pitch.

KKR's team is well suited to Eden's conditions. Their bowling is rather tailor-made as Brad Hogg's exploits against DD showed. Although Sunil Narine is available for selection, it is unlikely Gautam Gambhir will tamper with the playing XI.
Both teams have a wealth of experience on their bench. MI head coach Ricky Ponting must have worked overtime to plan a strategy to check KKR, who have Jacques Kallis, Wasim Akram and Simon Katich in their dugout.
For the record, KKR have beaten Mumbai only five times in their 16 IPL meetings.
