ÂÂ
Akshar Patel, Man-of-the-Match: I wanted to do well in pressure situations. I am game to prove myself all the time, so I have asked the captain to let me bowl in any situation.
That's the end of this game. Another double header on Tuesday.
ÂÂ
George Bailey, Kings XI Punjab captain: Akshar batted reasonably well. We just wanted to give the left-right combo going and that's why he batted ahead of me. The pitch was turning a bit and we did well to pull things back after Delhi got off to a good start. It was a good chase. The team made some good selections at the auctions.
ÂÂ
Kevin Pietersen, Delhi Daredevils captain: This defeat is incredibly tough to swallow. Our strength has been our batting in the last five-six, but it just wasn't meant to be. It will take a while to get over this loss. We did not get enough runs but we have to keep doing the right stuff. Today was a fighting effort.
ÂÂ
Kings XI Punjab win by four wickets and confirm a spot in the playoffs. Set 165 to win, the Kings XI got off to a spectacular start, thanks to Vohra, who smacked 42 off 19 and Virender Sehwag (23). Maxwell and Miller failed to do anything substantial tonight, but Akshar Patel (42 no) stood up with a matured innings. Imran Tahir (3/22) was the best bowler for the Daredevils.
ÂÂ
23:15 IST: KXIP are on course for another win as Akshar Patel takes three boundaries off Wayne Parnell; Punjab finish over no. 16 on 139/5 with 26 needed from 24 balls.
ÂÂ
23:02 IST: KXIP are 121/4 from 14 overs. Saha and Patel are in the middle and they still have some batting to come, with Bailey and Rishi Dhawan due next. Just 44 needed from 6 overs for the visitors and little wonder then, that they have a very happy co-owner.
ÂÂ
22:44 IST: WICKET! Another one goes down as Duminy removes Miller for 2. KXIP are 95/4 off 10 overs as Akshar Patel joins Saha in the middle. They still have Bailey to bat, but could this be trouble for the Kings XI?
ÂÂ
22:40 IST: WICKET! Big one for the Daredevils and Tahir, who has removed Maxwell with the wrong'un. KXIP are 92/3 after nine overs and they are still in the drivers' seat but Delhu will see a bright ray of hope here. Saha joins Miller in the middle.
ÂÂ
22:34 IST: WICKET! Sehwag had just smashed Duminy for a six but holed out in the deep in the next ball as KXIP slipped to 84/2 off 7.5 overs. David Miller joins Maxwell at the crease.
ÂÂ

ÂÂ
21:54 IST: KXIP openers Sehwag and Vohra start watchfully; take six off the first over from Wayne Parnell.
ÂÂ
Delhi Daredevils post 164/7 off their 20 overs, thanks to Dinesh Karthik (69) and Kevin Pietersen (49) despite Kings XI Punjab pulling things back with some late wickets. Sandeep Sharma and Beuran Hendricks picked up three wickets apiece as the visitors bounced back after a good middle-order stand between Karthik and JP Duminy. However, 164 may not yet be enough against a strong KXIP batting line-up.
ÂÂ
21:30 IST: WICKET! Another one goes down as Maxwell takes a brilliant catch near the boundary ropes. Spectacular fielding effort. DD 158/7 off 18.4 overs
ÂÂ
21:28 IST: WICKET! Karthik perishes to Hendricks for 69 as DD lose their way towards the end; but they are still in with a chance to post a strong total.
ÂÂ
21:22 IST: DD were cruising along but lost two quick wickets in Duminy and Jadhav. But with Karthik looking good, they would be eyeing a competitive total.
ÂÂ
21:10 IST: DD are 134/2 after 16 overs. Strategic timeout
ÂÂ
21:06 IST: Dinesh Karthik cracked Dhawan for a six and four as he raced away to his ninth IPL fifty, the third of the season, off 35 balls. With DD on 121/2 off 15 overs, they have a strong platform to target a big score.
ÂÂ
21:02 IST: DD have the chance to go for the final assault here; 104/2 off 14 overs with Karthik set and Duminy dangerous; he will pick up boundaries at will, that's the kind of form he is in.
ÂÂ

ÂÂ
20:17 IST: FOUR! Another top shot from Pietersen as Hendricks continues in the attack. The DD captain is looking in fine touch tonight.

ÂÂ
20:14 IST: WICKET! Murali Vijay mistimed a shot off Sandeep Sharma and Beuran Hendricks took a good catch with the ball swirling high in the air. DD 13/1 off 2.3 overs. Dinesh Karthik joins KP in the middle.
ÂÂ
20:09 IST: Pietersen cracked Beuran Hendricks to the fence off his second ball but the South African came back well, giving away just one more after that as DD reached 11/0 after two overs.

This will be a tie of stark contrasts. Kings XI Punjab, sitting on top of the points table, have more or less cemented their position in the playoffs, while the hosts, Delhi Daredevils, after two wins from 11 games, have been knocked out. In such circumstances, the two teams clash at the Feroz Shah Kotla, with little but pride left to play for, for Delhi. Punjab on the other hand, will look to try out a few players who have spent time this season on the bench.
Preview: Struggling Delhi Daredevils Take on Solid Kings XI Punjab
ÂÂ
Languishing at the bottom of the points table, lacklustre Delhi Daredevils will look to restore some respectability to their Indian Premier League campaign when they take on an in-form Kings XI Punjab in their final league match at Feroz Shah Kotla.
Just managing two wins in 11 matches this season, the Kevin Pietersen-led Delhi have lost six of their previous games without putting up much of a fight. Pietersen, who was bought by Delhi for a whopping Rs 9 crore in the February auctions, has failed to inject any spirit in the GMR-owned outfit. (Read full preview here)

Kevin Pietersen, Hardly a Daredevil!
ÂÂ
It's been another heartbreak for Delhi Daredevils fans. Swamped by poor performances year after another, 2014 simply flattered to deceive. Big names don't guarantee big performances. Money doesn't buy runs, wickets and catches. The brand new team looked as rudderless like previous years. Kevin Pietersen, the charismatic Englishman, simply failed to lift the team out of its morass. (Read full story here)
