Indian Premier League franchises promise to support Sunil Gavaskar
Sunil Gavaskar, who is the interim head of the BCCI for conducting the Indian Premier League, met the teams and briefed them on the preparations for the upcoming season.

IPL franchises on Monday pledged support to Sunil Gavaskar for a successful hosting of the seventh edition of the Indian Premier League, starting April 16 in the UAE. (BCCI to discuss developments after Gavaskar appointment)
Gavaskar, who is the interim head of the BCCI for conducting the league, met the teams and briefed them on the preparations for the upcoming season.
According to the BCCI, Gavaskar had a discussion with the franchises on conducting the popular Twenty20 league. (Gavaskar named interim BCCI chief)
"The franchises shared their views and extended their support and cooperation for a successful Pepsi IPL 2014," a BCCI release said.
Gavaskar was pushed into the job following a Supreme Court directive.
The first leg of the IPL will be held in UAE from April 16-30 due to General elections in India.
