Team Hyderabad -bought recently by Chennai based SUN TV - reportedly wants to rope in Sourav Ganguly. NDTV has learnt that the franchise is interested in having the former India captain as a player as well as getting former India coach John Wright to guide the side.
The franchise had earlier in the day submitted its initial squad which had all the players of the erstwhile Deccan Chargers. (Read: Teams submit initial squads for IPL 6)
The same list did not have Ganguly's name in the Pune Warriors' list. This after the 40-year-old had announced that he will not play IPL 6.
The 'Prince of Calcutta' however was on Wednesday asked if he would be interested in playing if another franchise bought him. Ganguly did not rule the option out but had stopped short of answering in the affirmative. "Let's see, let's see what happens. We will cross that bridge when we get there," is what he had told reporters.
Both Ganguly (as captain) and Wright (as coach) at the healm of Indian cricket had registered memorable victories. Recently, Wright was in Kolkata and had compared Ganguly to John McEnroe. (Read: John Wright on Sourav Ganguly)
