Spot-fixing rocks India as Pakistan takes precautions ahead of Champions Trophy

Indian cricket was rocked on Thursday with three players including S Sreesanth being arrested on charges of spot-fixing. This comes days after Pakistan cricket - infamous for scandals of similar kind - appointed vigilance officers to accompany its players for the Champions Trophy.

As India deals with the fresh allegations, Pakistan Cricket Board has been ensuring that no such instances are repeated when the team plays Champions Trophy - starting in England from June 6. While players have been receiving talks on dos and do not's while in England, vigilance officers have also been recruited to form a blanket around the players and ensure bookies are kept at bay.
"All the players realise the importance of it, and they should maintain strict discipline as we don't want a repeat of events. Players (have been) told to restrict their off-field movements and focus on the game," Pakistan team manager Naveed Akram Cheema had told reporters in Lahore earlier this week.
