With actor Deepika Padukone cheering for Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders in the inaugural match of the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League on Wednesday, SRK has promised to cheer for the Royal Challengers Bangalore when they are not up against KKR. Deepika is from Bangalore and Shah Rukh has spoken about returning the favour.
"It is really great to have Deepika with us. She performed really well in the opening ceremony and agreed to stay back and cheer for KKR. So I have decided that in this IPL season when RCB is not up against KKR, I will cheer for RCB along with Deepika," said an elated Shah Rukh.
After KKR registered a six wicket-win against Delhi Daredevils in the inaugural match of IPL 6, the city erupted in joy as KKR fans celebrated the victory by dancing the streets and cheering for the home team.
"It has been really wonderful. Kolkata has always been kind to KKR."
"As the city has always been supportive to us, we also try to give back what we are best at and that is entertainment," SRK said during the post match interaction.
