Make Mudgal Commission IPL Probe Report Public: Aditya Verma
There are charges of cover-up and conflict of interest against suspended BCCI president N. Sriniavsan. On Monday, the Special Supreme Court Bench had slammed Srinivasan for wearing two hats.
The Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB) on Tuesday urged the Supreme Court to make public the findings of the Justice Mukul Mudgal Commission, which probed the IPL spot-fixing scandal. (No Decision on Srinivasan, Hearing Resumes on Thursday)
"In the court today, the BCCI opposed our move to make the report public. If they have nothing to fear about, then why they are afraid of putting the report in the public domain," Aditya Verma, the petitioner in the case, said. (Srinivasan's India Cements Shares Sink as Uncertainty Over CSK Grows)
"We were able to sufficiently establish that N Srinivasan was only trying to protect the interest of CSK and his son-in-law. Our counsel has submitted documentary evidence to prove Srinivasan's son-in-law (Gurnath) Meiyappan was a team official. The Supreme Court had asked Srinivasan to address the question of conflict of interest as head of BCCI and also the owner of the Chennai Super Kings.
