KKR fans arrive in droves for IPL opening ceremony
Fans of cricket and Bollywood queued up to get into autos especially catering to commuters making a beeline to the arena, one of the largest in the world.

Waving gold and purple flags and banners, frenzied fans of defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders descended onto the Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata, the inaugural venue of the sixth Indian Premier League, to witness a star-studded spectacle on Tuesday.
Renting the air with KKR's anthem 'Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re'(which, translated into English, reads "We will do it, we will fight it out, we will win it"), large groups of students clad in the gold and purple KKR jersey, thronged local trains to arrive in time for the opener that will see Bollywood biggies Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone with American rapper Pitbull providing the international touch.

VIPs and VVIPs entered through a special tree-lined pathway as chauffeurs jostled for space to park.
