IPL 2013: Rajasthan Royals had sacked Sreesanth for tantrums, say media reports

Media reports reveal that when Kerala pacer S Sreesanth was arrested in Mumbai in the wee hours of Thursday on charges of spot-fixing, he was no more a part of the Rajasthan Royals squad. The Kerala pacer, say reports, had already been dumped by the Rajasthan Royals management on disciplinary grounds, before the spot-fixing controversy reared its ugly head.

Infamous for his antics on and off the field, media reports indicate Rajasthan skipper Rahul Dravid did not want Sreesanth to play the match against Kings XI Punjab (May 9). This is the same match where the Delhi police alleged the 30-year-old bowled with a towel tucked in his pants as an apparent indication to bookies. Though Rajasthan won the match, Sreesanth leaked 18 runs from his 2 overs. (Related read: In Sreesanth's hometown, betrayed fans say 'punish him')

It is reported that by the May 15 match against Mumbai Indians, the bowler had been told to leave and a large part of the financial commitments had been cleared. He did not stay in the team hotel in Mumbai.

Sreesanth though was in Mumbai the day his team played at the Wankhede and was arrested a day later along with teammates Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan. While Rajasthan Royals on Sunday indicated that the franchise will file an official complaint against the players, who are facing spot-fixing charges in three separate IPL games.
