Bangalore:

He said he was calm while batting against Sunrisers Hyderabad but there was nothing serene about Virat Kohli's ferocious innings of 93* off 47, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.

Leading his team to a dominant 7-wicket win in just 17.4 overs, Kohli said that the previous defeat to Hyderabad made the players more eager to get back on winning ways. "There was a calm energy in the dressing room. After the defeat to Hyderabad a few days ago, we knew we could bounce back. It was a good win and the boys can be proud of it," said the skipper who smashed eleven boundaries and four sixes.

Kohli had put Hyderabad in after winning the toss and a target of 162 seemed challenging, especially after the early wickets of Mayank Agarwal and Chris Gayle. Kohli though said that it was a par-score. "Defending here under lights is never easy. We thought 161 was a par-score and that if we had wickets in hand, we could win this match," he said after being named the Man of the Match.

Bangalore with this win now have four points from three matches and Kohli said it is a good place to be in, after a week of IPL.
