Geoffrey Boycott, a cancer survivor has advised Yuvraj Singh to stay positive in his quest to overcome the dreadful disease. The India all-rounder is undergoing treatment for lung cancer in the United States at the moment. "I would advise him to stay positive and do everything what he can," Boycott said from Dubai where he is commentating in the Pakistan-England Test match.
Ten years ago, the legendary England opener was detected with throat cancer. He, however, fought the punishing treatment, thanks to the incredible support from wife Rachael. "Follow the instructions given by your doctor and enjoy life. You have to fight the battle where success is not guaranteed," Boycott added.
Boycott's mother, unfortunately couldn't survive breast cancer. "My message to people is -- don't delay and don't think your symptoms are going to go away as if some fairy has waved a magic wand. "For God's sake, follow your doctor's advice, and if you are not satisfied, then don't hesitate to consult a specialist. The sooner they detect cancer, the chances of overcoming it are better," he concluded.
