Karachi:
"Wasim Bari had called me for a meeting in which he wanted to discuss my resignation from the ICL," Yousuf said after the meeting.
"I told Bari that although the ICL had not issued me a NOC as yet but I had sent in my resignation to them, a copy of which I handed over to him. I have no intentions of going back to the ICL because I just want to play for my country in the few remaining years of international cricket I have in me," Yousuf added.
Yousuf's meeting with Bari came on the day the ICL announced it had released dozens of foreign and local players from their contracts after these cricketers said they wanted to make use of the amnesty deadline of May 31 given to them by their cricket boards.
Yousuf is expected to return to the Pakistan team for the forthcoming tour of Sri Lanka from June 27 for three Tests and five ODIs.
Yousuf was not named in any of 13 regional teams which would take part in the country's domestic Twenty20 competition from May 25.
PCB sources said that Bari had made it clear to Yousuf that the board would not be paying him any extra bonus for resigning from the ICL neither would it bear any cost if the senior batsman got entangled again in any other legal battle with the Indian league organisers.
Yousuf remained Pakistan's leading run-scorer in the last few years, before he joined the ICL last year claiming he was fed up with the attitude of former captain Shoaib Malik.
