India will take on New Zealand in the WTC final at Lord's cricket ground
Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar took to Instagram on Friday to wish wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik, who will be making his debut in the commentary box, luck ahead of the World Test Championship final. Gavaskar shared a picture with Karthik and wrote "He made his India Test debut when I was a consultant to the Indian cricket team. Now he will make his commentary debut with the WTC finals. I'm sure he will do well in the box too. Good luck @dk00019 !"
The wicketkeeper-batsman thanked Gavaskar for his "blessings". "Will be glad to be alongside you, thanks for the blessings sir," Karthik left a comment on the legendary batsman's post.
India are set to take on New Zealand in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, beginning at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton from June 18.
The Indian team landed at the Heathrow airport in London on Thursday and they will undergo a hard quarantine for three days. After completing the hard quarantine, the players will be allowed to train in small groups.Â
On the other hand, India's WTC final opponents New Zealand are currently playing a two-match Test series in England.
Many Indian players including the captain Virat Kohli, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma shared pictures from the Southampton stadium's hotel on social media to add to the excitement of the fans waiting for the cricketing action to begin.Â
After the WTC final, India will take on England in a five-match Test series, starting on August 4 with the final Test match to begin on September 10.
