Stand-in skipper Virender Sehwag defended India after the visitors lost the final Test to Australia at Adelaide on Saturday.
Claiming that Tests are different from ODIs, Sehwag felt that the title of World Champions continues to be with India. " We are still World Champions. Tests are different from ODIs. Australians were better and so they won the series but we care about our performance as well," he said at the press conference after the 4-0 whitewash.
The opening batsman admitted that plans were not executed as decided but said that there was nothing wrong with the coaching staff. "Everyone has been working hard but players themselves have to go out and execute the plans. The defeat is disappointing but we need the support of fans," he said, adding that supporters of Team India should back the players now just as they did when India won the World Cup last year.
