Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli sent his birthday wishes to former West Indies cricketer Garfield Sobers, as the legendary all-rounder turned 80 on Thursday.
The in-form Indian batsman expressed his desire to meet Sobers, one of the all-time greats of the sport, in a video that was posted on Twitter by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).
"Your performance on the field will always remain iconic and you were the very few who have changed the way the game is being played. Congratulations on a wonderful career and a wonderful life. It's my pleasure to wish you on your 80th birthday," Kohli said in his message.
"I am sure you will keep inspiring people whoever you meet all around the world. It's been a pleasure watching you and I would surely like to meet you and have a discussion about the game someday. That's one of the wishes I have in my life. Have a great birthday," he added.

Team India coach Anil Kumble also conveyed his wishes to Sobers. "You have brought a lot of joy to a lot of people. You are the greatest," he said.

Opening batsman Rohit Sharma too sent a video message for the Windies great. A host of West Indies players joined in the celebrations on Thursday, while a T20 match was held at the Kensington Oval in honour of Sobers.
