Wellington:
Fast bowler Matt Henry has been called into the New Zealand cricket team for its three-test series against India as a replacement for the injured Tim Southee.
Southee suffered an ankle injury in training and will return to New Zealand for treatment, though he is expected to be available for the one-day series which will follow the test matches.
Coach Mike Hesson said "the focus now is for Tim to give his ankle seven to 10 days rest before slowly building his bowling loads back up ahead of the ODI series. We've got a replacement who is ready to go in Matt Henry and he'll join the team before the start of the first test."
New Zealand is currently playing Mumbai in a warm-up match.
